RootsTech London is just a month away! We hope you can join us for the first annual London version of the world’s largest genealogy/family history conference, October 24-26 at the ExCel Centre. If you haven’t already registered, you can save 10% on a single day pass or 20% on a 3-day pass by using the code SPKRPAL to register. (Or you can click here to register and it should apply the discount code automagically.)
Tom and I have been presenting at RootsTech USA for the last six years, and it’s the highlight of our year. But going to London takes the cake! It’ll be an exciting (and busy) time for us, as Tom and I will be giving a total of five presentations at the conference. Whether you have a desire to write your life stories, or you’re currently working on a family history, or you want to organize your photos and memorabilia, you won’t want to miss these presentations. (We’ll be posting more information about each one in the coming days leading up to the conference.) Here’s our schedule:
Thursday, Oct 24, 2:00 PM: Capturing Family Stories in Video Interview Clips (Tom)
Friday, 9:00 AM: The Seven Deadly Sins of Digitizing Photos (Alison)
Friday, 2:00 PM: Time Machines, Pensieves, and Portkeys - Memory Technology that Bridges Generations (Tom)
Friday, 3:30 PM: How to Tell the Ten Best Stories of Your Life (Alison)
Saturday, 1:00 PM: From Mountains to Megabytes - Organizing and Archiving Your Stuff (Tom and Alison)
We will also be spending some time in the Speakers’ Corner in the ExCel Centre, where we will be available to answer your questions and give you some one-on-one advice about capturing, preserving and sharing your pictures and stories.
Follow our Family History Journey
Since we are going all the way “across the pond,” we thought, why not come early and get even more in touch with our roots? We will be spending the entire month of October in Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England (with a few days in Belgium and France thrown in), tracking down the places where our ancestors walked. We will be posting a few of our pictures and stories on Instagram and Facebook throughout our journey (wifi permitting), and we would love to have you along for the ride!
